Ball Corporation announces expansion to North Las Vegas’ Apex Industrial Park

$290 million manufacturing facility expected to create nearly 180 jobs

North Las Vegas, Nevada - The City of North Las Vegas has landed another Fortune 500 company, Ball Corporation, which will build a $290 million multi-line manufacturing facility in North Las Vegas’ Apex Industrial Park. Ball chose North Las Vegas for its proximity to customers, access to major transportation routes, local labor pool and business-friendly processes.

The plant is the latest development to come to Miner’s Mesa, located at the southern end of Apex, which is home to a growing number of top companies.

“Fortune 500 companies, including Ball, recognize the benefits and strategic value of operating in Apex as North Las Vegas continues to take the lead in diversifying the economy of Southern Nevada,” said North Las Vegas Mayor John Lee. “North Las Vegas is a place where companies want to do business, and Ball Corporation’s $290 million investment and the nearly 180 jobs expected to come with it is just the latest example of that.”

As the City continues to recruit businesses like Ball to Apex Industrial Park, the Mayor and City Council’s strategy to transform the economy of the City and the region is paying off by creating permanent, high-paying jobs, increasing North Las Vegas’ tax base, and attracting innovative technologies and processes, which in turn allows the City to provide additional services to residents.

Ball will manufacture a wide range of sustainable aluminum beverage containers at its North Las Vegas packaging plant. The facility will span over 750,000 square feet on 76 acres.

“Demand for our infinitely recyclable aluminum packaging continues to grow, and our new North Las Vegas plant will further expand our industry-leading North American plant network to supply our customers,” said Kathleen Pitre, president, Ball beverage packaging North & Central America. “More consumers are enjoying their favorite beverages in aluminum cans, a package that is playing a role in the development of a truly circular economy. We are pleased to be investing in North Las Vegas and look forward to being part of our newest community.”

The City of North Las Vegas has spearheaded infrastructure upgrades Citywide, including the construction of a surface water pipeline to Apex, opening up more than 3,000 acres of land for development and job creation. These efforts have attracted numerous logistics, manufacturing and assembly facilities to Apex and other areas of the City.
